This course is delivered in small groups of 5–10 participants, allowing for a strong focus on building a solid foundation and fostering a supportive community of peers to grow alongside and lean on. As part of the course, we also offer a separate 1-hour seminar specifically for parents and partners, helping them better understand and support the journey of each participant.

Trimester 1

  • Introducing the idea that our purpose exists beyond the activities we engage in. While these activities can enrich our lives, they should not define who we are.

  • Detaching your identity from mountain biking — you are so much more than the sport!

  • Gaining insight into how your nervous system, mind, and body work as a unified whole.

  • Creating supportive structures that empower you to live the life you truly want.

  • Creating tailored strategies to build and sustain the most efficient system for your needs.

  • Exploring the role mountain biking plays in your life and how to make the most of every experience on the bike.

  • Navigating a world that constantly measures us against others. How to exist and thrive without letting those comparisons define your self-worth.

Trimester 3

  • Reflecting on the journey so far, what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make meaningful adjustments.

  • Learning that reflection is about observation, not self-criticism.

  • Maintaining a positive mindset and practical ways to reconnect with it when it starts to slip.

  • Embracing the community we’ve built , supporting your peers and knowing it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.

Core program heading.png

Our 10-week small group program is our core course and the one we most highly recommend as a starting point when working with us. There are two main reasons we suggest beginning here.

First, it lays a strong foundation. This course equips you with the background knowledge and tools to get started effectively. After completing it, if you're keen to refine your progress or dive deeper, our one-on-one coaching options are a great next step.

Second, it's simply a great course. Working alongside like-minded individuals towards a shared goal is proven in academic research to deliver the most sustainable and effective results. A strong sense of community is essential to a positive and enriching learning environment, and this program not only supports individual growth but also fosters collective strength.

The course runs over 10 weeks, divided into three main trimesters:

  • Trimester 1 focuses on understanding how your nervous system, mind, and body work together.

  • Trimester 2 explores practical ways to implement this new perspective in everyday life.

  • Trimester 3 is all about reflection and creating a plan to maintain your new approach moving forward.

Pro rider Mentoring

Over the years we've spent in and around the mountain biking world, we've been fortunate to build strong relationships with professional riders. This core course was developed in consultation with Georgia Astle and Dan Booker, whose insights bring incredible value. Their lived experience in the sport offers lessons we can all learn from.

The Yama Folk pedagogy is something we've carefully crafted, it’s not something just any pro athlete can teach. Being a great rider doesn’t automatically make you a great mentor. But Georgia Astle brings both to the table. Her experience, mindset and values align seamlessly with what Yama Folk is all about. We’re absolutely stoked to have her on board and can’t wait for you to learn from her!

Georgia Astle is not only an exceptional mountain biker, she’s also one of the most grounded, well-rounded people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Her passion for holistic health aligns perfectly with our mission at Yama Folk: to inspire confidence, self-worth, and joy through cycling.

Georgia will be offering mentoring opportunities throughout the year, depending on her travel and competition schedule. These mentorships will be available in packages of three sessions. If you’re interested, please reach out for availability.
